Garfield Heights(9-3) bounced back last night to outlast the gallop of the Strongsville Mustangs with a deceptively impressive 85-78 victory. Garfield was lead by the 2 guard tandem of Senior and Sophomore sensations Carl Jones 26 points (9-14 from the field,4-7 from beyond the arc) and Trey Lewis 24 points(6 of 9 beyond the arch)they also received plenty of inside presence with 6-foot-8, 2009 Center Freddy Chatman, along with 6-foot-6,2011,Skilled, SF Will Weeks. Chatman finished the night with 15 points on stick backs, tip-ins and 2 handed dunks. While Weeks tallied 9 points on impressive around the bucket finishes with either hand. Roy Brown had a quiet scoring night with 3 points, but chipped in with 9 assists to add a helping hand and Mario Hines who has been in a silent coma of late added a pesky 3.
Garfield's three losses on the year are from; Akron SVSM, Columbus DeSales and Findlay Prep. The Bulldogs are still one of the favorites to advance to Columbus out of the Cleveland Region. Time will tell...
