Doing C"J" Work!

6-foot-2, 2009, Canton Glen Oak, shooting guard C.J. McCollum went off for 37 points against Cleveland Rhodes on Friday night. McCollum who has a pure stroke and sound skill set was just too much tonight for the young Rhodes squad. CJ is not going to wow you with unreal athletic ability, nor is he going to explode by you, but the kid just knows how to use angles. He has vision while passing, has instincts for backside put-backs and timing rebounds, he has a solid jab series, displayed combinations of baseline drives, crossovers, pull-up mid-range jumpers, catch and shoot NBA range stroke and dribble drive floaters. He had the ball on the string in the second half with an inside-out/strong-side drive that turned into a reverse layup. He then deflected the out of bounds pass and power dribbled for a easy stick back. CJ is a poor mans version of Steph Curry with his scoring average and his superior basketball IQ.
