Post Players Battle Early

Michigan's high school season tips off tomorrow, Monday, and like last year one of the first games to get under way is Detroit Community and the University of Detroit-Jesuit. This time U of D-J is the host and game features two of the state's top post players, Jesuit's 6'8 Univeristy of Michigan signee Jordan Morgan and Community's 6'9 Providence College signee James Still (pictured). They are both top five players in Michigan's 2009 class and schools from the Big Ten, Big 12, Mid-Continent, and M.A.C. were in attendance last year.

The game provides unsigned seniors, Jesuit's 6'5 wings Gerald Bridges and Mike Wendeski and Community's 6'5 Marcell Stewart, for DII/DIII coaches to evaluate and maybe get a steal.

Tuesday features a test for Utica Eisenhower's 6'9 junior center Corey Petros as he and his teammates face Warren De LaSalle, a top five squad in Class A, and a talented senior squad led by Mr. Basketball candidate 6'4 guard Alex Marcotullio (Northwestern) and the Pilot's 6'10 center Kevin McCarthy (Lehigh).

DII, DIII, and NAIA programs should look for Eisenhower's 6'5 wing Dragan Bijelic and De LaSalle's 6'1 guard Alex Harville in a game that should be won by the Pilots.
