Romulus' Scrimmage Continued...

The review continues with Saginaw Arthur Hill battling Melivindale Academy of Business & Techonlogy in a game that saw a couple of Michigan's top guards from the 2010 class, Arthur Hills' 5'7 Maurice Cooper-Jones and AB & T's 5'10 Michael Talley III. Arthur Hill won the scrimmage and both players stayed true to their game. Jones-Cooper continues to show why his assist to turnover ratio is as succesful as it is as he dropped dime after dime keeping his teammates involved. Talley's game is attack, attack, attack and he did knock down a couple of threes, draw fouls, and get to the basket. Talley's dad and AB & T head coach, Michael Talley II, told me that his son has offers from the University of Detroit-Mercy, some M.A.C. schools, and that Notre Dame is high on his list, despite not having an offer...yet.

Three senior sleepers that stepped up were Flint Carman-Ainsworth's 6'5 forward Courtland Patterson, Detroit Cooley's 6'1 guard Derrick Neal, and Arthur Hill's 6'2 Chris Webb. Patterson is long and has nice bounce. His return to Carman-Ainsworth is what the young Cav's need to get over the hump and back to the Breslin in March. Neal has nice size and is a quality athlete. He also knocked down a few threes from the corner. Webb took over point guard duties when Jones-Cooper was sitting out and Webb did a solid job. He plays solid defense and knocked down open shots.

The season starts tomorrow...
