Timken vs. Jackson: Cold as Ice

Tuesday night was sickle in North East Ohio as locals got to experience a real life version of Ice road truckers on there way home after the Canton Timken vs. Massillon Jackson boys game. Timken who pulled away with a 14-0 run early in the 4th quarter after only leading by 2 points won the battle 68-52. Jarred Porrini lead the victors with 19 points, Cameron Howard had 13 points and 10 rebounds and senior 6th man Marcellus Robinson had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson was lead by 6-foot-7 Junior Mark Henniger with 24 points and 5 blocks. Josh Egner chipped in a silent 9 points to go along with a handful of rebounds and 2 powerful crash tip-ins. Porrini was just to much as he created off the dribble slashing to the cup, hitting mid-range pull-ups and slashing 3-point plays. Howard used his athletic ability for easy put backs and easy bunnys inside. Henniger who could be a poster child for Mary Kay lotion considering his super soft sand and he did a great job catching and finishing in traffic. Deceptively athletic, he finished well inside using his body to get offensive rebounds, contest shots and kept the ball up for put backs and knocked down a few mid-range jumppers.Egner who came out on fire in the first half with 7 quick points cooled off in the 2nd and fouled out with nearly 5:30 left in the game. Egner is a very good athlete who crashes hard to the glass and does all the little things that coaches love. He needs to work on his open court decisions when passing the ball as he threw a couple away while in transition.
